Analyse an existing design, then make it configurable

Turning a static model into a configurator used to be its own development project. Here the AI examines a real design from LDG Engineering, works out the repeatable logic with the designer, updates the parts into fully parametric components, writes the iLogic rules and assembles a working configurator – about 45 minutes and a handful of prompts, after which a new variation takes about a minute. A balustrade designed end to end – AI drives a frame generator

Inventor's Frame Generator has no API, so fabricators' repeat-but-never-identical steel work has stayed out of reach for automation. Here the AI configures a rule-based frame generator in Design Gear from a plain-language brief, then uses Inventor AI and ModernCAD Memory to add the parts, produce the drawing and export PDF, STEP and DXF cut files. One prompt turns into an iLogic configurator

The AI builds a working iLogic cabinet configurator in a single prompt: sizing rules, a form with size and finish options, and export buttons wired to rules that produce the drawing PDF and STEP files. Change the numbers on the form and the cabinet rebuilds itself.

Design, draw, export – one prompt to finished deliverables

One prompt takes a steel mounting plate from nothing to deliverables: the modelled part, a fully dimensioned A3 drawing with callouts and a populated title block, and STEP and PDF exports with iProperties set on both the model and the drawing.

More than 250 Inventor commands are exposed to the AI through the MCP layer. Here it designs a sheet metal part from scratch off a simple request, then uses a feedback loop to observe, adjust and refine the result until it meets the requirement.
